Does anybody know if Dunhill lighters were ever made in Japan?

A local tobacconist says Dunhill lighters were only ever made in England, which is a bit confusing, as I have a couple stamped Switzerland. The one that's throwing me, though, is one stamped Japan on the bottom.

It looks like the current Rollagas, but the flint wheel is set just under the cap, as opposed to being dropped a quarter of an inch or so. The adjuster is on the bottom, across from the butane plug. The butane plug itself has straight striations instead of the ringed version seen on many older Rollagases.

So, if anybody has some background on Dunhill lighters, I'd appreciate it. I have a budding lighter collection and, while it doesn't diminish my appreciation for a nice lighter, I'd like to know if any I have are counterfeits. Thanks.|||The Dunhill Tinder Pistol wick lighter was manufactured both in England and USA from ca. 1936 until the early 1960's.

The Dunhill Tinder Pistol Lighter was replicated in Japan - it was manufactured in the 1950s and was on the first spot indistinguishable from the original. Fortunately, the marking "Japan" on the bottom dissolves all doubts.

In Dr No James Bond movie Connery uses a silver Dunhill Wideboy, with oxidised finish. This was custom made just for the film, after the producers accidently came across a custom order at Dunhill from a customer. Blade is right, the case was also Dunhill.
